Our department was founded in 1887, and has a proud tradition of providing top notch fire suppression, advanced life support emergency medical services, hazardous materials technician-level local and regional response, and technical rescue services to the residents, visitors, and passer-byer’s of North Platte, NE. North Platte is a community of approximately 24,000 residents, and is the county seat for Lincoln County which has approximately 35,280 residents and covers a total of 2,575 square miles. Yearly, our footprint continues to grow as we respond to assist smaller surrounding communities that are experiencing higher requests for emergency services coupled with a decline in volunteers. We work closely with these agencies through mutual-aid agreements to provide support where we can, all while recognizing our primary responsibility to our local residents. Within the City of North Platte Fire Department, we have a long standing history and tradition of providing high quality, professional service to our beloved community.
