Everyone (All Ages / Intergenerational)

Summer Reading Kick-Off for All Ages is Friday, May 31, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is a green screen postcard event. Additional details will be posted to https://north-platte.libcal.com/event/11562347.

Family Fridays: Activities for all ages on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from June 7, 2024 through July 12, 2024.

Young Children (Ages 0-5)

Adventure Oasis (Ages 0-5): Mondays starting June 3, 2024 through July 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to noon, is Open Sensory Playtime for ages 0-5.

Book Babies (Ages 0-3): a 20 minute finger play and story time will continue to run during Summer Reading. Book Babies happens Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Story Time (Ages 3-5): a 30 minute program of songs and stories will continue to run during Summer Reading. Story Time happens Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Children (Ages 5-11)

Afternoon Adventures (Ages 5-11): Wednesdays starting June 5, 2024 through July 10, 2024 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. is a learning and activity time.

National Weather Service Special Event (Ages 5-11): Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

National Weather Service Special Event (Ages 5-11): Friday, July 12, 2024 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Tween (Ages 9-12)

Tween Time (Ages 9-12): Tweens can choose to participate in reading challenges for either Children or Teen programs. Tween Time activity programming is on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Summer Reading themed Tween Time will run from June 3, 2024 to July 8, 2024.

Teen (Ages 12-18)

Teens Explore Summer Reading (Ages 12-18): takes place during the routine Teens Explore programming slot on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Summer Reading themed Teens Explore events will run from June 4, 2024 through July 11, 2024 on Thursdays.

Adult (Ages 18+)

Adult Summer Reading (Ages 18+): is mostly self guided. We will have a reading contest from May 31, 2024 thru July 24, 2024 and a drawing for prizes on July 26, 2024. To enter the contest, download ReaderZone read books and log them on the app ReaderZone under the code 21d39. There are three options for Summer Reading Tracking: Two (2) are for children, goals for reading hours, and goals for reading books. The program for adults is Adult 2024 SRP Tracker and will just track titles read. There may be other activities to earn entries into end of Summer Reading prize drawings, please monitor Facebook and Calendar for additional Adult Summer Reading programming and event information.
