The Records Unit maintains police department records and documents to ensure accuracy, completeness and expedient recovery. It is under the Support Services Division supervised by Lt. Steve Reeves.
Duties of this office include processing police reports dictated by officers, distribution of police reports, preparation of court documents, processing parking tickets, releasing impounded or stored vehicles, collection of parking fines, processing accident reports, routing all telephone calls to the appropriate division, and responding to questions from the public.
Office personnel also initiate reports from the public on specified crimes through our D.P.R. (Differential Police Response) program. This allows the officers to be available to respond to emergency calls.
