Scam Alert!

We are having a large number of people calling our office reporting a phone scam with calls coming from a number other than Municipal Light and Water’s official phone number, stating that they are behind on their utility bill. .  The caller directs the business to call a 1-800 number and ask for an individual (number and name changes frequently). Customers are also being directed to make an express payment as soon as possible via a variety of methods.  DO NOT make payment to them!  Customers are encouraged to file a police report if you feel you have been subject to this scam.

At this time Municipal Light and Water does not contact customers by phone demanding payment to prevent disconnection.   Should you be behind on your bill you will receive a disconnect notice from us via US mail.
