RSVP – people helping people – strives to fulfill two main objectives within each community it serves:

To enhance the quality of life of persons 55 and older by providing them meaningful
opportunities to participate more fully in community life through volunteer service; and

To use the time, talents and skills of adults 55 and older to help meet the ever increasing
needs of community non-profit public and private service organizations.

North Platte Area RSVP History
The North Platte Area Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (NPRSVP) was
initiated on August 29, 1973 by the City of North Platte.
NPRSVP is federally funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and
locally sponsored by the City of North Platte.
Since its inception, it has grown from a volunteer force of 20 people to an active membership of 650 volunteers,
serving 104 community organizations in North Platte and has reported a total of 3,218,732 hours of
volunteer service to meet community needs.
Those hours are valued at $67,110,562.20 in volunteer support and manpower needed to make our
community the unique and wonderful place it is today!
