City of North Platte: Government: Garbage Pickup
Due to the holiday closures, the schedule for trash pickup will be altered...
The Public Service Department and the Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2 for observance of
the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Refuse collection may be a day earlier or a day later than normal collection day. Citizens
should make sure their trash receptacles are in place accordingly.

All city offices will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2011 for the observance of the Christmas holiday.
Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2, 2012 to observe the New Year.
The North Platte Public Library will be closed December 24 - 26 for the Christmas holiday and
January 2, 2012 for New Year's.
The Rec Complex hours will be as follows:
- December 24, 2011 - 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- December 25, 2011 - CLOSED
- December 31, 2011 - 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- January 1, 2012 - CLOSED

LIBRARY CLOSURE
The North Platte Public Library will be closed for maintenance Monday, December 5
through Wednesday, December 7. The north windows will be replaced and computer equipment
upgrades will be made. The bookdrop will be open for returns during the closure.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Library will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8.

Holiday Hours - Thanksgiving Holiday
City Offices will be CLOSED on November 24 - 27
in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Rec Center will be open from Noon - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25,
and regular hours will resume on Saturday, November 26.
NO BUS SERVICE ON THANKSGIVING DAY or on the Friday following Thanksgiving.

A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is opening in Westfield Shopping Center.
Location: Westfield Shopping Center, 1827 West A Street, North Platte NE 69101
Friday, September 23, 2011 from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Thereafter: Monday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The annual Police Auction has been scheduled for Sunday, October 16th. It
be held at the north impound lot in the 1700 block of East 12th and will begin
at 10:30 a.m. Cars, motorcycles and lots of miscellaneous items will be sold.
NO GUNS WILL BE SOLD AT THIS AUCTION.

Iron Eagle Offers Free 10 Minute Lesson in May
May is free 10 minute lesson month, please call 308-535-6730 to set up an appointment for your free 10 minute lesson.
Men’s Thursday league begins May 5th at 6:00 p.m. please call the course for details 308-535-6730.
May 21st Shannon Johnson and her Tech Rep from Ping Golf will be at Iron Eagle for a demo day and fitting session
from 10:00 a.m. till 1200 p.m., please come out to our range and take advantage of this,
they will have all the latest Ping Clubs for you to see and hit.
May 24th and 25th Iron Eagle will host the Class D State Golf Tournament,
the course will be closed till all are completed for the High School players.
If you are interested in joining a informal league both for Ladies and Seniors please call us for information.

Iron Eagle Offers Free Equipment Fitting in April
North Platte Nebraska’s-Iron Eagle Golf Course will offer free 15-minute equipment fitting sessions
during the month of April during PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month.
Throughout the month of April, the Iron Eagle Golf Course will offer golfers of every age and skill level
the opportunity to make sure they have proper-fitting equipment in their bag.
PGA Professionals can give expert advice to help golfers determine whether of not they are playing with clubs that are properly fit for their swing.

TAX COUNSELING FOR THE ELDERLY
Volunteers will again provide income tax filing counseling at the North Platte Public Library
through the IRS sponsored TCE program. Trained and certified AARP Tax-Aid volunteers will help
people of low to middle income with special attention to those age 60 and older.
Assistance is available:
- Saturdays - 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Wednesdays - 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Please bring last year's return, real estate tax paid in 2010, W-2 forms, Social Security
cards, and any other documentation.
Some tax forms are available at the library, however, library staff cannot
assist with filling out tax forms or income tax filing. Staff can help you find tax
forms or locate e-filing options through the IRS website, www.irs.gov. The
public may use computers in our Technology Learning Center for e-filing through online tax
preparation sites. Your personal tax preparation software may NOT be installed on library
computers.
