Recreation Center Gym Closed Sunday, December 12, 2010

The gym at the Recreation Center will be closed Sunday, Nov. 12th for the “Nick of Time” craft show. This is the first annual Recreation Center sponsored Christmas Craft event. Approximately 50 artists and home based businesses will be showing and selling their products from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day. Christmas is getting close - here’s your chance to get that last minute gift just in the “Nick of Time”.

The swimming pool, game room, and exercise equipment will be open to the public during regular Rec Center hours: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call the Recreation Center at 535-6772.

Library Network Maintanence Scheduled

All online services including internet access, wi-fi, databases, emedia (aka Nebraska OverDrive), searching, and circulation services will be down from December 16-19, 2010 for network and server room re-organization. No materials will be due on these days. No fines will be charged on these days. The Library will be open, but please be patient and expect delays during this planned maintenance event. City Mosquito Treatment in August

The City of North Platte will be spraying mosquitos again August 9-13, 2010.

Treatment will begin each evening at 8 p.m. and end at midnight, weather permitting.

Residents living in the following areas are asked to take precautions by turning off window fans, and closing windows and doors through the evening hours when spraying will be conducted.

The schedule:

• Monday -- Front ST to Second ST
• Tuesday -- Second ST to “A” ST (West of Jeffers ST)
  Second ST to B ST/Burlington BLVD (East of Jeffers ST)
  And, South of South Platte River
• Wednesday -- “A” ST to Philip ST (West of Jeffers ST)
  B ST/Burlington BLVD to Philip ST (East of Jeffers ST)
• Thursday -- Philip ST to South Platte River
• Friday -- Seventh ST to North Platte River

Dewey Street Lane Closure

News Release

Motorists are to be advised that from 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010 thru 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010 that Dewey Street from F Street to D Street will be channeled from three (3) lanes to one (1) lane to facilitate street repairs.

Motorists should use caution in this area and expect the possiblility of delay.

Buffalo Bill Viaduct Closure

News Release

Motorists are to be advised that Buffalo Bill Avenue Viaduct will be closed to traffic starting at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010 thru 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010.

This closure is to allow for storm water drainage pipe cleaning on the viaduct.

Area to be Treated for Mosquitoes

News Release

The City of North Platte will be treating areas for mosquitoes in the north and south sections of town the week of July 9th & July 13. These are the areas that were missed last week due to the weather conditions.

• Friday July 9th: 7th Street to Rodeo Road (12th Street)
• Tuesday July 13th: Philip Street to South Platte River

All East and West Boundaries will be the city limits.

Treatments will begin at 8:00 P.M. and end approximately at 12 Midnight, weather permitting. Residents living in these areas are asked to take precautions by turning off window fans, and closing windows and doors through these evening hours.

City Starts Mosquito Treatment

News Release

The city of North Platte will be treating areas for mosquitoes in the north and south sections of town the week of June 28th through July 2nd.

As of May 4, 2006, the Flood Insurance Rate Map for the City of North Platte has been officially revised by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. A link to the Letter of Map Revision document is provided for your use.
