Technology Learning Center Classes

TLC Basic Computer Classes cost $5.00 each and require pre-registration and pre-payment.

Please pre-register with TLC staff and pre-pay or arrange payment for your class.

Class size is limited to six (6) participants. If there are fewer than 3 students for a class, the class will be cancelled.

Classes are offered on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings as noted below.

Class Fee Refund Policy: Class fees are refundable if you contact TLC staff forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the class or if class is cancelled by the library due to weather or other reasons. If you notify the TLC six (6) hours in advance of the class that you are missing due to illness, your fee is not refundable, but may be transferable to another class at a later date.

Introduction to Computers Using the Mouse: This class is for people new to using computers and using the mouse. Learn when to left-click, double-click, or right-click the mouse; where to click to make windows bigger on the screen; and other useful information. The class has plenty of hands-on practice.

Introduction to Microsoft Windows: This class is for new computer users. Learn the basics of using your computer, opening programs, using the taskbar, start menu, and more with hands-on practice. Mouse skills are required to take this class.

Beginning Internet Skills: Learn how to use Internet Explorer to search the "web"; how to move between pages; where to enter web addresses; and some useful websites with hands-on practice.

Saving and Organizing Computer Files: This class will help you to learn how to save files such as documents you have created on your computer and how to organize files in folders. You will also learn to rename files, create folders, move files, and use removable media to save copies of your files and folders.
