City of North Platte: North Platte Public Library: Kid's Klub
KIDS Klub
KIDS Klub is an after school program offered through the North Platte Public
School District. The North Platte Public Library is one partner in the
program offering after school programming and activities for KIDS Klub.
KIDs Klub comes to the library twice a month. Five KIDS Klub groups visit
the library twice a month from 4:00 to 5:00 – 5:20. A program is planned
consisting of a short video based on a book, if possible, or pertaining to a
certain theme and reading a book or two. Book talks may be given. Children
then visit the junior room and are able to check out books. The library
collaborates with Kids Klub to afford an opportunity for children to visit the
library and obtain a library card that might not otherwise do so.
It also encourages reading and promotes the library and books as something fun
to do.
