City of North Platte: Police: Uniformed Division
Uniformed Patrol Division
The Uniformed Patrol Division is under the supervision of Deputy Chief James
Agler. Shifts run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Lieutenants in charge of the shifts are Lt. Mike Swain, Lt. Rich Thompson,
and Lt. Rich Hoaglund.
Uniformed Patrol Officers protect our city by responding to the majority of
the calls for police services as well as patrolling their designated areas to
initiate police action by actively searching for and arresting individuals
involved in drug activity, burglary, robbery, thefts, and other miscellaneous
criminal activities. The Patrol Officers are generally the first to respond to
critical incidents and are responsible for handling the situation themselves or
stabilizing the situation until additional support arrives.
In addition to answering the calls for police services, Patrol officers
follow the Department's Community Oriented Policing philosophy. They serve as
B.E.A.T. Officers, Bike Patrol, Motorcycle Patrol, as well as the many other
programs we share with you throughout this web page.
