The Fire Safety House was purchased through donations from citizens, local organizations, and companies. Without those donations, this program would not have been successful. Many thanks for your generosity.

The Fire Safety House is loaned out to surrounding Fire Departments within a 75-mile radius of North Platte. To schedule a time to use the Fire Safety House, call 308-535-6768.

Smoke Busters

The North Platte Volunteer Fire Department offers special fire safety and educational programs to the public. Known as “The Smoke Busters”, a group of members will tailor programs to fit the age groups requesting them. These programs range from puppet shows for the young, to providing programs such as operations of smoke detectors, escape routes, and what to do in case of kitchen fires for those young at heart.

Smoke Detectives

This is a very popular fire safety program designed for kids. It is endorsed by the International Association of Fire Fighters and the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

North Platte Firefighters teach area school third graders the basics of fire safety and inspire them to become smoke detectives too.
